Frontier Medical College (FMC) is one of several medical schools affiliated to Bahria University.〔http://www.bahria.edu.pk/〕 It is also one of only 32 medical colleges in Pakistan that is recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PDMC) and one of 16 in the private sector. Located in Abbottabad of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan, FMC has approximately 500 students in the MBBS and BDS programs. The College was founded in 1995 as the first private medical institute in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. == History == Frontier Medical College and its teaching hospitals are self-financing institutions sponsored by Al-Jamil Trust. It was founded in 1995 on a space of land at the foothills of the Karakoram Highway leading from Islamabad to the Chinese border and on to the Central Asian States. In addition to medical students, nurses and paramedical are also trained. In 1998 a private-cum public partnership was arranged with the Government of NWFP so that the Government DHQ Teaching Hospital Mansehra may be utilized for teaching and training of the medical students.
